It’s been an exciting summer for Keith Pike.

As the artistic producer for the 33rd annual Stephenville Theatre Festival, he’s been working hard to ensure high quality performances are presented to local audiences.

“The support that the Stephenville Theatre Festival has received from the community has been exceptional. The festival is alive and well,” said Mr. Pike.

“I have had the opportunity to work alongside some of this country’s best actors, designers, technicians and directors. I have also had the honour to work with an outstanding board of directors who never cease to amaze me with their energy and love for theatre.”

And while he noted the Arts and Culture Centre box office has been buzzing over the past few weeks, the curtain will soon fall on this summer’s productions.

“With every show playing this week, now is your time to catch a production for the first time, or even second or third.”

The season ends on Aug. 14 with the festival’s annual gala. The evening’s theme is “A Night at the Movies,” which will feature popular Oscar-nominated songs from the past eight decades.

“People can expect to see all of your favourite company members doing what they do best on the (Arts and Culture Centre) Mainstage,” he said. “There will be musical theatre choreography, rock ‘n’ roll, jazz and blues. A night to celebrate not only the music of the movies, but to celebrate this fabulous season and the people involved.”
