The Stephenville Theatre Festival is receiving a $30,000 investment from the provincial government’s Cultural Economic Development Program.
“The Stephenville Theatre Festival is the longest-running theatre festival in Newfoundland and Labrador and one of the oldest professional theatre festivals in Canada,” said Terry French, minister of tourism, culture and recreation, in a release. “I encourage everyone to take the time to get out and enjoy the great line up of performances being offered this season.”
Festival chair Michael Dawson said in the same release he was appreciative to everyone who has supported the festival over the years.
“On behalf of our artistic producer Keith Pike, and our board of directors, cast, crew, staff, and volunteers, we are thankful for the continued support of the Stephenville Theatre Festival through the provincial government’s Cultural Economic Development Program,” said Mr. Dawson.
“We have an exciting new program for our viewers this year. Support from the provincial government will go a long way towards our success.”
This year’s festival runs from July 15 to Aug. 14.
