The Bay St. George RCMP are requesting the public’s assistance in solving a case of arson to Piccadilly Parish Hall.

Police were notified of fire damage to the rear of the building on July 23. In speaking with hall staff, it was determined the fire occurred some time in the past week.

Police say scorch marks were observable on the rear wall, a section of vinyl siding was melted, and a section of the roof overhang was burnt through. There was no damage to the interior of the building. Fire investigators believe this fire was started with the use of accelerants.

At this point, Bay St George RCMP are requesting the assistance of the general public in solving this crime. Anyone with any information is asked to call the RCMP and 643-2118 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
