Erica Noonan has been awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.

Born a right arm amputee and enrolled in The War Amps Child Amputee (CHAMP) Program, Erica, 22, was nominated for the medal and accompanying certificate by The War Amps in recognition of her long time involvement, together with her contributions to her community, amputation awareness and keeping the Remembrance message going among youth.

Originally from Stephenville, Erica now lives in St. John’s.

“It was a privilege for us to be able to secure this honour for Erica as a means of acknowledging her role in helping to build The War Amps into the organization it is today,” said Danita Chisholm, executive director of the CHAMP Program.
