Man facing three charges after attemped robbery

On Tuesday night, Bay St. George police say a 20-year-old man from Port Au Choix entered a convenience store in Stephenville, approached the employee and asked if she would hand money over to him in a bag.

The employee refused and told the male to leave the store as she was calling the police.

The man left empty handed and was located and arrested a short time later by police officers with the assistance of the Police Dog Service.

Police say no violence, threats or weapons were used in this incident.

The man is facing three charges relating to this incident including attempted theft under $5,000 and two counts of failing to comply with a undertaking.
