A Kippens councillor isn’t happy with freshly painted road markings along White’s Road.
“We attended budgetary meeting with the minister of finance a few years from a municipal perspective and we were assured … that there were going to be improvements to White’s Road,” said Councillor John Dawson at last week’s meeting of council.
“I hope to goodness the fresh markings of the lanes along the road are not the improvements that we were waiting for. I was waiting for something that was going to be much, much better than that.”
The councillor noted he’s been a resident of the area since 1968 and he didn’t think there’s been very much done with that particular roadway in all that time.
He suggested the council should partner with other town councils to have a stronger voice regarding the state of White’s Road with the provincial government.
Mayor Cator Best added the town council should speak with the local MHA about the matter.
