Charles J. Stacey, group publisher of Transcontinental Media Newfoundland and Labrador, recently announced the appointment of Kevin Hiscock to the position of general manager for Transcontinental NL Community Newspapers.
In this role, Mr. Hiscock will be responsible for Transcontinental’s 14 community newspapers in Newfoundland and Labrador including such newspapers as the Compass in Carbonear, the Advertiser in Grand Falls–Windsor, the Georgian in Stephenville and the Aurora in Labrador City.
Mr, Hiscock has over 20 years of experience in newspaper sales and management, having begun his career as a sales consultant with The Telegram in St. John's, before becoming sales manager for the Compass in Carbonear.
For the past four years he has served as provincial sales manager for the community newspaper group, a position he will continue to hold in addition to his role as general manager.
Mr. Hiscock is a director on the Atlantic Community Newspapers Association.
He lives in Carbonear with his wife, Dianne, and two daughters.
