Stephenville resident Butch Barron hopes someone will come forward with information on who is causing damage to his property at 45 St. Clare Ave.
He said since he bought the house in September 2008 there have been damages to the property that started with windows being smashed and the siding damaged by ball bearings.
During another incident, which happened just after he left to go back to work out of the province, holes were drilled in the tires of his truck and the truck was scratched with a key.
He said on numerous occasions, someone came knocking at the door in the early morning hours while his wife Brenda was home alone, which has been very upsetting for her.
Mr. Barron said his wife is dealing with medical issues and this sort of thing certainly doesn't help the situation.
He has had oil stolen from his oil tank in the past, but he said the worst incident happened this past fall when he alleges someone cut his oil line and the fuel from the tank drained into the ground.
Fortunately Mr. Barron was insured for such a problem, but he would like to know who could have done such a thing. He was out of the province at the time, just as when all the other incidents occurred.
Mr. Barron said the RCMP investigated the latest incident, as did officials from the insurance company and environmental services. A decision was made by the insurance company to move the house back, and remove the contaminated soil where the oil had run underneath.
"I don't do any harm to anyone and actually I help out people when I can, so I can't understand why this is happening." - Butch Barron
"It seems like the remedial work has been completed and hopefully construction will soon start on the foundation and then the house will be put back into place and new porches will be put on to replace the two that were torn off," he said.
Mr. Barron said he can't understand why he is being targetted in these incidents.
"I don't do any harm to anyone and actually I help out people when I can, so I can't understand why this is happening," he said.
Mr. Barron thinks someone had to hear or see something, especially when the windows were smashed, and it seems that whoever is responsible knows when he is away.
"I was home for a full nine months at one period and nothing happened, but right after I left is when my truck was attacked. I really hope someone will come forward with information on this," he said.
When contacted, Cpl. Mary Gale of the Bay St. George RCMP, confirmed Mr. Barron has made complaints on a number of occasions regarding incidents at his home. She said should any information come forward, police would be investigating.
