Visitor restrictions on Memory Lane/ Protective Care Unit at the Bay St. George Long Term Care Centre in Stephenville Crossing have been lifted.

Western Health put the visitor restrictions in place last week due to a number of residents with gastrointestinal illness.

To prevent the spread of infection, the health authority asks the public to wash or sanitize their hands when entering or leaving any of Western Health's facilities.

As well, Western Health recommends that if people are experiencing symptoms like vomiting and/or diarrhea, they should refrain from visiting any Western Health facility until at least 48 hours after your last symptoms.

To prevent the spread of contagious illnesses, Western Health recommends staying at home if people are unwell, avoid preparing food for others and thorough cleaning where people have been sick.
