Students and staff of Stephenville High gathered in the school’s gymnasium this morning to honour their athletic best.
Krista Hogan and William Forsey won Senior Student Athlete of the Year awards, while Jillian Forsey and David Alexander picked up Junior Student Athlete of the Year awards.
The Darren Pearce Memorial Track and Field Award went to William Forsey and James McCulloch, and the Dedicated Spartan Sprit Award went to Lauren Henley and Zachary Thorne.
Named to the school’s Wall of Fame were Hannah Bennett, Shane Cormier, William Forsey, Krista Hogan, James McCulloch, Crystal Miesseau, Jenny Thistle and Justine White.
Teacher Paul Hulan won the School Sports Newfoundland and Labrador Regional Recognition Award.

- Cross country running – Jillian Forsey, William Forsey and Tiuri Lomond;
- Volleyball – Rebecca Roberts (Grade 9), Brianna Young (Junior), Abigail Penton, Krista Hogan (Senior), Kelsey Brochu (Senior), James McCulloch;
- Fairplay volleyball – Jeanne Burke;
- Hockey – Brandon O’Neil and Steven Hancock;
- Cross country skiing – No MVP;
- Wrestling – Monique Parsons and Tobias Caravan;
- Basketball – Ariana Pinsent (Junior), Jenny Thistle (Senior), Levon Messervey (Senior), and James McCulloch (Senior);
