There’s going to be plenty to do – including sports, games, crafts and musical activities.
The Town of Stephenville and the First United Church are offering a summer recreation program for youth in the community ages nine to 12.
“It’s a partnership between the town and the church,” said Rev. Kathryn Eddy. “But it’s not an evangelical program. Rather, our focus is on healthy living.”
The program is being offered free of charge to participants – including complimentary lunch and snacks – and runs Monday to Friday, from July 11 to Aug. 12.
Activities are being headed by four youth – Jasmine St. Croix, Ashlee Power, Ben Thistle and Jenny Thistle.
“We’re planning different sports and games,” said Ashlee, noting there would also be theme days and guest speakers throughout the five-week program.
For more information or to register, contact the youth leaders at 649-1434, 649-2554, 649-7888 or 631-4785. They can also be reached via email: jennythistle hotmail.com, benthistle live.ca, jasmine_stcroix hotmail.com or powera live.ca.
