The U-14 mega soccer championship was held this past weekend in Paradise. The Western team, which included players from Stephenville, Corner Brook and Deer Lake, competed and earned a Silver medal.

Western was up 1-0 at half time but faced the larger Portugal Cove team who scored two goals within the final 10 minutes of play to win the game. Both teams met in the round robin the previous day, which resulted in a 2-2 draw.

Awards were given to the Western team; Bradley O'Quinn received MVP; Logan MacIsaac, Hard Hat; and Tyler Wise, most spirited.
